RETREAT INFORMATION
L.O.G. FAQs
What does interdenominational mean?
How do I know this retreat aligns with what I believe?
Is a 'student-led' retreat really a good idea?

Interdenominational means that anyone of any belief or interest in God can attend L.O.G.! When they get home, we encourage you to talk to your student about what they learned. Often this will help deepen their understanding of the weekend's content. While talks are only given by students, our adult Directors and Spiritual Directors work closely with student leads during our prep process to guide and direct their reflection.

What are expectations for youth at the retreat?

We ask that students who attend the retreat give us their phones for the weekend. So much of our youth's experience is dictated by devices, and we want this weekend to be free of all the demands, stressors, and distractors that phones provide. We also expect students to leave all recreational drugs and weapons at home; if found on a student during the retreat, we will confiscate them. Beyond that, we expect students to be respectful of one another. Students with all sorts of backgrounds and beliefs come to L.O.G., and we want everyone to feel at home here.

Is L.O.G. a youth group?

No. We are a retreat program affiliated with and funded by Goleta Presbyterian. We have two yearly retreats, and youth who have previously attended a retreat can join our L.O.G. Leadership Team, a 9-week prep process focused on community-building and leadership activities.

How much is the retreat?
What if I have more questions?

The retreat weekend is $150 per student, but scholarships are available for anyone who is unable to pay the full amount. We don't want price to be the reason someone misses out on all that L.O.G. has to offer! For more information on scholarships, or for any other questions, feel free to fill out the contact form below, or get in touch with our Directors, Elisa and Warren Takaya, whose contact information can be found on our contact page in the top menu.
